Title

SUMMA Hydrology in the Pacific Northwest for Hydrologic System Vulnerability Assessments

Alternative title(s)

Abstract

This dataset provides 3-hourly hydrology and meteorological variables (runoff both on a 2D grid along a stream network vector, precipitation, and temperature) for about 4500 years over the Columbia river basin. It is being designed to use a large number of ensembles from the CMIP6 archive to sample unobserved decadal variability to improve our understanding of rare but extreme flood events. The CMIP models will be downscaled using the Intermediate Complexity Atmospheric Research model (ICAR) to a 5 km grid. These data will be bias corrected then used to run the SUMMA or VIC hydrology models to project variability in runoff, and routed with the mizuRoute streamflow model to project river flow volumes along the channel network.
