This method adjusts precipitation based on sub-grid-scale topography and wind direction, then incorporates these adjusted values into a hydrological model to simulate runoff. The goal is to better represent the impact of mountains on precipitation and, consequently, improve water resource predictions in regions like the western US, where snowpack is a key water source.
