ICARUS Chamber Experiment: Hildebrandt Ruiz Lab_20170704_ISOPRENE_Chlorine radical_Ammonium sulfate + Sulfuric acid_C6_continuous Cl injection_acidic seed
d789507

Goals:
To calculate SOA yield from Cl-initiated photooxidation of isoprene at a VOC:Cl2 ratio of 0.54, and using acidic seed. Cl was continuously injected for the lights-on period, until a total concentration. of 180 ppb was reached.

Summary:
Acidic seed was injected with an initial seed surface area of 2400 um2/cm3, followed by a continuous Cl2 injection out of a gas cylinder, and the isoprene injection using a heated glass bulb. Temperature was kept at 25C for the whole duration of the experiment, while RH was kept at less than 10%.

Organization: Hildebrandt Ruiz Lab
Lab Affiliation: University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX, USA
Chamber: LHR Chamber

Experiment Category: Gas phase chemical reaction, Volatility and partitioning, Aerosol formation
Oxidant: Chlorine radical
Reactants: ISOPRENE
Reaction Type: Photooxidation
Temperature: 25
Seed Name: Ammonium sulfate + Sulfuric acid
