ICARUS Chamber Experiment: Ziemann_20160721_resorcinol/Dinitrogen pentoxide_Nitrate radical_Dioctyl Sebacate_Resorcinol + NO3_2
d789170

Goals:
Determine the gas-phase and particle-phase reaction products as well as SOA yield of resorcinol + NO3 in the presence of NOx.

Summary:
400 ppb of resorcinol was added to 1 ppm of N2O5 present in the chamber. N2O5 thermally dissociated to NO3 + NO2, and NO3 reacted with resorcinol. SOA Yield was 11% assuming all resorcinol reacted.

Organization: Ziemann
Lab Affiliation: University of Colorado, Boulder, Boulder, CO, USA
Chamber: Janet (Chamber 1)

Experiment Category: Gas phase chemical reaction, Aerosol formation
Oxidant: Nitrate radical
Reactants: resorcinol, Dinitrogen pentoxide
Reaction Type: Dark oxidation
Relative Humidity: 1
Temperature: 23
Seed Name: Dioctyl Sebacate
Pressure: 630
