MPAS-A pseudo-global warming (PGW) experiment with convection-permitting resolution and regional configuration using the Model for Prediction Across Scales (MPAS) version 8.0.1
d583103
The dataset includes post-processed model outputs from regional configuration simulations (control and PGW) using the MPAS-A version 8.0.1. This is the first dataset publicly available that uses regional MPAS in combination with the PGW approach to study future climate in short time scales. The Limited-Area domain encompasses 30 degree South to 51 degree North and 3 km horizontal grid outputs, the post-processed outputs available here were interpolated to a 0.25-degree by 0.25-degree latitude-by-longitude grid and 27 isobaric levels (in the vertical). The namelist files to run the model, as well as a README file, are also included in this repository. More details of the data and analysis are published in the Geophysical Research Letters (GRL): Nunez Ocasio and Dougherty, 2024: https://doi.org/10.1029/2024GL112341

description: The NSF NCAR Geoscience Data Exchange - Integrated Research Data Commons (GDEX) contains an extensive collection of meteorological, atmospheric composition, and oceanographic observations and model outputs to support Earth System Science research. GDEX supports "data proximate" computational research through its integration with NSF NCAR High Performance Compute services [https://arc.ucar.edu/resources], which are made accessible to US researchers through a range of allocations opportunities [https://arc.ucar.edu/xras_submit/opportunities].
