A Quality-Controlled Sea Surface Temperature Analysis
d276000

The U.K. Met Office acquired a copy of more than 31 million sea-surface temperature observations from the U.S. National Climatic Data Center. Because SST observations had low accuracy and high scatter, the Met Office applied a quality control method that was developed within their Synoptic Climatology Branch. The resulting dataset here is a gridded monthly mean analysis at 5-degree resolution for the Northern Hemisphere.
