Western Arctic Ice Drift and Expedition Ship Stations
d258002
Western Arctic ice drifting stations, AIDJEX, ARLIS I, ARLIS II, Ice Station Alpha, Ice Station Charlie, T-3 (called Ice Station Bravo during IGY), and ships Maud and Fram provide surface meteorological data for the Arctic Ocean. These data were collected and organized by NCDC and NSIDC leading to the production of a CDROM. Several different versions of the data are available, extending from the original key entered data to variable subsets and QC versions developed in uniform format for all stations.

name: NSF NCAR Geoscience Data Exchange
description: The NSF NCAR Geoscience Data Exchange - Integrated Research Data Commons (GDEX) contains an extensive collection of meteorological, atmospheric composition, and oceanographic observations and model outputs to support Earth System Science research. GDEX supports "data proximate" computational research through its integration with NSF NCAR High Performance Compute services [https://arc.ucar.edu/resources], which are made accessible to US researchers through a range of allocations opportunities [https://arc.ucar.edu/xras_submit/opportunities].
