ICARUS Chamber Experiment: Nguyen Group_20210123_2-methylbut-3-ene-1,2-diol/Methyl nitrite_Hydroxyl radical_N/A

Goals:
Product study on 2-methylbut-3-ene-1, 2-diol (1,2-DHI) + OH, unseeded, dry, trying to get the best conditions possible for any isomerization/autooxidation to occur (including high temperature, low OH / light)

Summary:
The chamber was heated to ~35 C and all but two lights were removed from the chamber (~3% of maximum light flux). 1,2-DHI and CH3ONO were injected and allowed to mix and equilibrate, after which the lights were turned on and left on overnight (> 24 hours). The CIMS was acting up and running out of reagent gas, so signals were pretty wonky before 12:00 on the first day and after 06:00 on the second.

Organization: Nguyen Group
Lab Affiliation: UC Davis
Chamber: Tran's big bag of air

Experiment Category: Gas phase chemical reaction
Oxidant: Hydroxyl radical
Reactants: 2-methylbut-3-ene-1, 2-diol, Methyl nitrite
Reaction Type: Photooxidation
Relative Humidity: 5
Temperature: 35
Seed Name: N/A
Pressure: 755
