Operation of the Stokes Profile Synthesis Routine

The Stokes Profile Synthesis Routine (SPSR) calculates the Stokes vector emerging from a model atmosphere using the Diagonal Element Lambda Operator (DELO) method described in Rees, Murphy, and Durrant (1989). The DELO technique combines speed, accuracy, and robustness making it well suited to the problem of radiative transfer in the presence of magnetic fields. This report describes the data required by the SPSR and also the format of its results.
