GHOST Balloon Data Volume I: Introduction

Early Global Horizontal Sounding Technique (GHOST) balloon tests have resulted in valuable upper air wind data, particularly in the data-poor mid-latitudes over southern hemisphere oceans. This publication was prepared to meet the requests for obtaining this particular data. NCAR/TN-34, published in eleven volumes, consists of an introductory volume and positional and wind data for ten selected GHOST balloon flights. Volume 1 is the introduction.
