Niwot Ridge Remote Meteorological Data Acquisition Station

NCAR maintains a self-powered, automatic, meteorological data acquisition station on the Niwot Ridge (12,300 ft elevation) of the Continental Divide, approximately 12 mi northwest of Boulder, Colorado. This report details the acquisition of data by this station. Instruments at this remote station make continuous measurements of wind speed and direction, temperature, solar radiation, atmospheric electric field, and positive and negative conductivity.
