Observed Long-period Fluctuations in 500-mb Heights -- Supplementary Text to NCAR Films J-4 and J-6

This text is intended to be used as an aid for the two motion picture films produced, using the computer facilities at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, to show the longer period variations in the 500-mb height fields for the Northern Hemisphere. The two films are called "Daily 500-mb Heights and Long-Period Fluctuations" and "Long-Period Fluctuations in 500-mb Heights."
