Round-Robin Cold Brittleness Tests of Balloon Films

This report is part of a series prepared for the Materials Research Project of the NCAR Scientific Balloon Facility in order to extend the reliability and capabilities of scientific ballooning. The present report covers a round-robin test program to compare various cold brittleness testing methods for balloon films. The test program was supported by NCAR and was monitored by Hauser Research and Engineering Company, Boulder, Colorado. A quantitative measure of cold brittleness and ductility has been proposed.
