Satellite Data in Meteorological Research

A workshop was held in Boulder, CO from 25 to 31 August 1965 with the purpose of acquainting members of the university community with the latest techniques for using satellite data and to coordinate efforts among scientists to develop a national meteorological satellite program. This report transcribes the presentations on the following topics: tropical analysis and tropical storms, severe local storms (meso-analysis), synoptic analysis, local circulations, general circulation; water vapor, temperature structure, heat budget; radiation physics; and satellite programs.
