Description of a Global Shallow Water Model Based on the Spectral Transform Method

The purpose of this report is to document a global shallow water equation model based on the spectral transform method. Additionally, it includes a derivation of the governing system along with a detailed discussion of the spectral transform algorithm as applied to the shallow water system in spherical geometry, including the use of semi-implicit time differencing. Finally, a complete application code, including graphics and post analysis packages is briefly described.
